There are arguments both for and against whether Vince Carter will make the NBA Hall of Fame. Chances are he will make it because his odds of doing so are 94.6%, according to the Basketball Refernce.com’s Hall of Fame probability measure. Arguments for include his career scoring totals, which are greater than those of Charles Barkley, Elgin Baylor and Larry Bird.
Carter has also made 8 All-Star performances. With the exception of one player, all other players have entered the NBA Hall of Fame with seven All-Star appearances. Arguments against include the fact that Carter made only two All-NBA teams (not even as first-team selection), and he hasn’t been a star during any postseason games.
