It’s hard to name only three feelings that come up when I hear the word racism. As a white person there is shame, as a human there is sadness, and as a someone who wants the world to be better there is anger. This is only a small portion of what I feel, though, and the answer will be different for everyone.

It depends heavily on age, race, location, etc. Racism is a pervasive and difficult problem for all of us, even those of us who don’t feel like we experience it personally. Boiling it down to three words is never going to get to the bottom of things, but maybe simplifying our feelings could, in some way, help generate conversation.
