I think World War II’s theater of war in the Pacific was more crucial than the European theater. If the Japanese had not bombed Pearl Harbor, the United States would not have dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the war would not have come to an end.

The war in the Pacific also included the Battle of Midway, a battle from which the Japanese naval fleet was never able to fully recover. And, the Battle of the Coral Sea resulted in Japan not invading New Guinea and the Solomon Islands as they had planned to do so after Pearl Harbor.
