Girlie feminism has also been called lipstick feminism or cupcake feminism. The term is usually used to describe a subset of younger females who want to highlight their more feminine side. These girlie feminists still believe in the values and goals of traditional feminism such as gender equality. But, girlie feminists prefer to highlight the fact that they also embrace feminine activities like wearing make-up or baking cupcakes and cookies.
They may also enjoy crafts such as knitting, sewing, or needlepoint. They use the term to distinguish themselves from more traditional feminists who have been viewed negatively, and inappropriately, as men-hating bitches.
