The USAID (US Agency for International Development) has programs in more than 80 countries to support women and girls and promote gender equality. Other efforts are taking place worldwide.
For example, in 2016, at the International Women’s Day (IWD) conference, people were asked to sign a pledge to “take a concrete step to help achieve gender parity more quickly”. The IWD’s 2018 campaign theme is #PressforProgress. These are just a few examples. Gender equality is not just a feminist issue.
