Being a feminist and wanting to get married is not a contradiction. Feminism is a political movement and a philosophy of equality. Many feminists can and do get married for basically all the same reasons that non-feminists get married. They want to share their love and life with someone who shares their dreams, hopes and aspirations.
They want to become part of a team and work together, travel together, go to the movies together or just have fun together. Perhaps really fierce feminists don’t want to get married because they don’t want to be given away by their fathers, have to wait until the priest or ministers gives their husband permission to kiss them, and they don’t want to have to obey their husband.
