No, I do not believe that a military intervention produces much better results than a diplomatic effort. I believe there is a time and a place for both, but I favor diplomatic efforts first. I will concede that sometimes the threat of military intervention works, but only if a county has the means to back up the threats. The USA needs to carefully weigh military intervention and consider doing so only when our national security is at risk or when there is a humanitarian crisis.
Military intervention has, in the past, lead to unexpected consequences, such as in Benghazi, Libya. Negotiation has also, in the past, lead to successful outcomes such as negotiations with Iran over their nuclear weapons program.
