The circulatory system is correctly known as the vascular system and it comprises the vessels that carry blood and lymph through the body. These vessels are called arteries, that carry blood away from heart, veins that carry blood towards the heart and capillaries that weave between the arteries and veins carrying oxygen-rich blood to the body. The lymph vessels carry water and blood cells (lymphatic fluid). When blood moves through the capillaries the oxygenated blood nourishes parts of the body and removes waste from them.
