In movies and books, especially those that took places a few decades ago, the typical bully was pictured as an overweight, angry boy or girl who was a terrible student at school. The victim was portrayed as a meek and underweight child who was scrawny but a great school student. The bully would torment the victim by forcing him or her to do the bully’s homework or face the consequences of being physically assaulted.
Today, cyberbullies are sometimes not even know what they look like. They can hide behind the computer but be a powerful force against their victims. The bullies now can look like anyone, and the victim can be anyone too. Since physical abuse is not a part of the bullying with cyberbullies, there doesn’t seem to be any stereotype anymore.
