Athletes from around the world participate in the Olympics every four years. Sometimes, a commentator of announcer will discuss the background or biography of the athlete. An athlete’s bio may include being born in one country, raised in another, and practicing their sport in a third country. However, people may wonder how that athlete decided which country to compete for. Citizenship is a key determinant in the athlete’s country that he or she represents. Even though the athlete may choose which country to represent as long as they are citizens of those countries.
However, once the athlete competes in an Olympic games for a specific country, then the athlete can’t change their mind during this Olympics or later Olympics. They must also be chosen by this country to represent them too.
