Porus was a royal member of Pauravas. His kingdom was located in India and specifically in Punjab. During the Battle of the Hydaspes, he fought against Alexander the Great. Alexander the Great was the king of Macedon. During this time, many countries were fighting each other for more land. In this case, both of these kings were fighting each other. After Porus’s side lost, he was taken by Alexander the Great.

Porus was a royal member of Pauravas. His kingdom was located in India and specifically in Punjab.

After talking with Porus for a while, he not only let him go, but he also allowed Porus to become part of his leading team. Usually, this doesn’t happen after fighting a battle against each other. Alexander was impressed with Porus, so that is why he made him a leader. However, after Alexander died, Porus was killed by one of Alexander’s men.
