However, the airplane tires do not pop.

Airplane tires are made up of a special nylon and have cords in the tread. Regular air responds and reacts with other gases. However, nitrogen does not. Nitrogen gas fills most airplane tires the nitrogen remains stable more often. This allows the plane to be able to land on the runway without causing problems with the tires.
