Unfortunately, people are still suffering from racism in America. Many Mexican-Americans and African-Americans are treated as unequal or they are treated poorly compared to the way other people are treated. Usually, this mistreatment is associated with a person’s or group’s bias or prejudice towards a group of people. These people are stereotyped based on their race. Sometimes, there are other prejudices against people based upon their religion, gender or sexual identity.

Some groups that promote racism like the KKK are still in effect today. The KKK and other racist groups still attend meetings in order to explain their point of view towards others. However, most of the time these events get out of hand and violence ensues. Racism has existed in the past and continues today.
