It seems that there are some changes that have occurred with regard to the presidency in Russia. There was a time when presidents would need to be elected over four years, but now, presidents would need to be elected every six years.
Vladimir Putin holds the position of president of Russia since the early 2000s, but a lot of people believe that the process of selecting a president is fair. First, the people will vote for the person whom they think will be the best president of Russia. The votes will be counted, and the top two people who are aspiring to be president would be voted for again, wherein one will emerge as the winner.
The position for the president of Russia is elected for six years and then can be re-elected for another six years. Boris Yeltsin was elected in the early 1990s and again in the mid 1990s and then Vladimir Putin was elected in the early 2000s. He was again elected in 2012. The six-year term only took place recently in 2012. Before that, the terms for president were for only four years.
The process for being elected president can take place following two rounds. This system requires a vote by the majority of the people. This takes place in the first round. Then the top two candidates for presidency will square off between and the votes will be casted. The most votes during this second election wins.
