Who does Neville go to the Yule Ball?

Neville was wondering who to go to the Yule ball with, in the Harry Potter book. Hermione had always seemed so nice to him that he plucked up courage and asked her. However, she ended up going with Victor Krum, probably the real one.

Neville took a risk and asked a younger girl, Ginny Weasley, and she was the one he went to the ball with. It didn't lead to any romance: while at the ball, Ginny met Michael Corner and later they became girl and boy friend.
