The correct answer to this question is Predictable changes in people that can be expected solely due to the passage of time. As a person grows older, they are expected to change and grow in certain areas. For example, when a child is born.

At first, they will rely on their parents for everything, but as they grow, they will learn to walk on their own, use the bathroom, and how to feed themselves. When they go into their teenage years, they will learn to drive, get a job, and learn more adult things. Maturation can also be when a person moves from one place to another, and they grow into their new environment.

Maturation is the predictable change in people that can be expected based exclusively and solely on the passage of time. There are certain things that one can expect of a person as time passes. One can expect that a young child will learn how to use the toilet properly. One can also expect that a young teen will one day learn how to drive. These changes are needed and expected of people in society today.

Maturation often ensures a few changes that will help the person survive in a hostile community. Many signs of maturation are celebrated as milestones to be reached, since they are things that allow us to function without being ridiculed in society. That’s how things are.
